9/7 Prepare Your Heart for Sunday Worship
Today’s Chronological Bible Reading: (today)
Title: “Enough is Enough! - Ezekiel ”
In a Nutshell: God through the exile and silent years was asking His people if they had experienced enough consequences for their sin and telling them that he had a better plan...Jesus I.O.W. Enough is Enough
Texts: Ezekiel 8 & 37; Luke 16:1-17; 2 Cor. 5:17; John 3:3; 2 Cor. 5:17; Eph. 2:4,5; Rom. 6:4
A few questions to consider:
- What kinds of things do people that call themselves people of God do today that Jesus called an abomination? Ezekiel 8 & Luke 16:1-17
- What does God say He “will do” in Ezekiel 37:1-14? What does Ezekiel say of Israel, “you will know…”
- What were the people of Israel saying about themselves? Ezekiel 37:11
- What does Jesus and Paul say MUST happen in order to be a part of the Kingdom of God?
Songs for Sunday:
Here are the songs we plan to sing this coming Sunday. The name of Jesus is powerful, and we'll sing some songs that declare that truth! I've been thinking a lot about our friend Fred Green, whom we're missing. He was always very supportive of our worship ministry, hanging around the stage after the service almost every week to give a few words of encouragement. Fred was one who realized that congregational worship is a compromise. Even when it was certainly not his favorite style, he always participated. But there was no doubt he had his favorites :) He particularly liked it when I included a song from the Gaithers, and this week we'll sing one of those classic arrangements about our Lord's powerful name. See you this week at our new times... remember that both hours will be identical!
This week's songs (playlist here: TLCC Worship)
- You Hold it All (New Life Worship)
- All Hail the Power (arrangement of classic hymn)
- The Name of the Lord (Gaither arrangement)
- Your Name (Paul Baloche)
- I Surrender All (arrangement of classic hymn)
- Jesus Messiah (Chris Tomlin)
A Prayerful Response: At the close of the service Prayer Cards that are in your bulletin may be nailed to the cross with a prayer request. Once a month these cards will be removed and taken to the Elders’ meeting for prayer. If you want to “nail” a prayer on top of a request then help yourself to another card.
