God Unboxed - September in the Minor Prophets

“Perspectives on God are as diverse as the boxes our minds create to put Him in. Many people have intellectually put God in a cubical as an impersonal force somewhere in the great beyond; conveniently He is on their side, or easily discounted.

 Actually Some of the most amazing and terrifying ironies of life and God were described by the minor prophets more than 2,400 years ago!  This month we will see through the eyes of 4 minor prophets how life and God don’t fit in the boxes we have created for them. God is unBELIEVABLE, unCOMPROMISING, unFATHOMABLE, and unCONDITIONAL!”

9/4 - The giver of life willingly allowed his life to be taken - unBELIEVABLE. (Zephaniah)

9/11 - Religions may create impressive buildings, but relationships invest in unCOMPROMISING priorities. (Haggai)

9/18 - Both the despair of sin and the power of God’s grace are unFATHOMABLE. (Zechariah)

9/25 – God’s covenant relationship is unCONDITIONAL. In contrast, man’s view of marriage tends to mirror our relationship to Him. (Malachi)
