5/25 "David takes a Census"

• Text: 2 Sam. 24:1-9; 1 Chronicles 21:1-5;  N.T.: Acts 8:9-25; Heb. 12:9-12

• Sermon in a Nutshell:  So was it God that incited David to take a census, or was it Satan?  It's a fine line between enjoying success and being grateful for what God provides. Finding significance in work success, power and influence is a subtle but dangerous trap.  Simon the Sorcer showed similar signs and was said by Peter to be " in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity. The consequences reach out farther than we ever dreamed.
